The chaplet is made with white jade gemstones and purple natural amethyst stones. The colour white symbolises the purity of St. Joseph who is believed to have been sanctified in the womb of his mother, and also the purity with which he took care of his Most Holy Spouse, the Virgin Mary Mother of God. Joseph is celebrated in his Litany as “Joseph most chaste – Ioseph castissime (Latin)”. The colour purple is also associated with this saint, symbolizing his royalty, and harkening to yet another title from his Litany: “Renowned offspring of David – Proles David inclyta (Latin)”. The beads are from 6mm stone beads and the centre medal gives us the familiar image of St. Joseph embracing the Child Jesus.
