LITTLE CHAPLET OF ST. JOSEPH

The Little Chaplet of St. Joseph it is a short devotional rosary dedicated to St. Joseph. JoséA. Rodrigues, the originator of this chaplet, is an author, Catholic public speaker, and the founder of the Ad Te Beate Ioseph apostolate.

This heavenly inspired devotion is included in two of his books: “The Book of Joseph”, which was granted the Imprimatur of the Archbishop of Lipa, and “To Thee O Blessed Joseph”, a compilation of various St. Joseph devotions and prayers.

Devotion to Saint Joseph is spreading lively all around the globe and the chaplet dedicated to this great saint is much loved and appreciated by many, leading more people to take St. Joseph for their patron. As the Catholic Church decreed the year 2021 as the year dedicated to Saint Joseph, I am very pleased to offer to you this devotional chaplet obtained with the authorisation and collaboration of its author.

The Little Chaplet of Saint Joseph contains such prayers as: The Apostles’ Creed, prayer of St. Pope Pius X, Our Father, Hail Mary, Hail Joseph, the Divine Praises, and wonderfully inspired mysteries that contemplate the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious mysteries of the great Patriarch. All these prayers are simple and pious and are given in the leaflet that you will receive together with this beautiful set of chaplet beads.

The physical chaplet is made of simple glass pearl beads, in honour of St. Joseph’s work as a carpenter. The colour white symbolises the purity of St. Joseph who is believed to have been sanctified in the womb of his mother, and also the purity with which he took care of his Most Holy Spouse, the Virgin Mary Mother of God. Joseph is celebrated in his Litany as “Joseph most chaste – Ioseph castissime (Latin)”. The colour purple is also associated with this saint, symbolizing his royalty, and harkening to yet another title from his Litany: “Renowned offspring of David – Proles David inclyta (Latin)”.

The Little Chaplet of St. Joseph consists of five sets of one purple bead (Our Father’s) and three white beads (Hail Joseph’s). In addition, there is one more set of 3 white beads and one purple bead after the crucifix, which contain traditionally beloved prayers of the Church: Our Father, Hail Mary, Prayer of St. Pope Pius X to St. Joseph, and the Glory Be. The centre medal gives us the familiar image of St. Joseph embracing the Child Jesus.
